Job Title: Deputy Principal Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Principal Clerk to join our team at Ourcommons. As a key member of our Procedural Services team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the work of various Branches, including hiring staff, engaging in collective bargaining, and ensuring training opportunities and professional development for your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert information and advice on parliamentary procedures and practices
  • Support parliamentary activities and events
  • Plan and coordinate complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Supervise and manage a team of professional staff
  • Represent the Procedural Services management team on corporate working groups and steering committees

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education, training, and experience
  • Significant experience providing advice on parliamentary procedures and practices
  • Experience planning and coordinating complex projects
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the work of the Committees and Legislative Services Directorate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingualism (English and French)
  • Knowledge of the House of Commons Administration's policies and procedures
