Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to join our team as a Faculty Member for Aerospace Technical Programs at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and evaluate students in approved curricula for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category 'M' (Maintenance), Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category 'E' (Electronics), and Aircraft Gas Turbine Technician programs.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum, ensuring it meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with instructors, Department Heads, and Associate Dean to ensure program delivery and student success.
  • Administer assessments, evaluations, and student evaluations.
  • Participate in program enhancement and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructing CCAA or Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer basic curriculum.
  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license, M or E, with previous Airworthiness Certification Authority from an Approved Maintenance Organization an asset.
  • Gas Turbine maintenance knowledge and experience an asset.
  • Minimum of five years of recent industry experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations and their relevance to personnel licensing and aircraft maintenance.
  • Preference for applicants with diverse industry experience.
  • Previous supervisory, Quality Assurance, or post-secondary teaching experience an asset.
  • Excellent command of English language - written and oral.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Completion of instructional techniques course or Provincial Instructor Diploma is advantageous.
