Empower Simcoe Support Worker Position

We are seeking a skilled Developmental Support Worker to join our team at Empower Simcoe. As a Developmental Support Worker, you will provide quality support to individuals with complex care needs in community residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as part of a support team for individuals supported
  • Utilize a personal outcome philosophy-based approach to support individuals in making informed choices
  • Provide guidance and direct support in areas identified as necessary related to activities of daily living, personal care, communication, emotional, physical, and mental health, safety, finances, and relationship development
  • Administer medications and document medication dispensing in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures
  • Foster the independence of those supported in the program and actively participate in planning for people supported and their families

Requirements:

  • Community College Diploma in Social Services or a closely related field from an acceptable accredited college
  • Registered Behavioural Technician certificate an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year recent full-time work experience supporting hard to serve adults with complex care needs in community residential settings
  • Experience supporting people with behaviour management techniques is an asset
