Patient Registration Coordinator

Job Summary
The Patient Registration Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and efficient scheduling and registration of all patients in the hospital ADT and Scheduling System. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task and problem-solve in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently schedule and register patients in the hospital ADT and Scheduling System
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
- Multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Work effectively in a team environment to achieve departmental goals
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- 2 years recent relevant registration, admitting and appointment scheduling experience
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment
- Knowledge of hospital Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) Systems and patient scheduling systems
- Strong customer service skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to accurately type a minimum of 35-45 wpm
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
- Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office; Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook email
- Call-Center or similar telephone customer service experience preferred
- Evidence of ongoing education such as post-secondary courses, seminars, workshops, etc.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability for attention to detail while providing high standards of accuracy and efficiency
- Experience collecting and processing payments are preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations with empathy
- Good work and attendance record required
