Overview

The Veterinary Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in the pursuit of Practice Care Centre's ambitious growth plan to become a leading player in veterinary medicine in Canada. Partnering with Operations team members and the Talent Acquisition team, the specialist will focus on building a national pipeline of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) contacts, managing and building a pipeline of talent, assisting in the execution of a campus recruitment program, and relationship building while maintaining a service-oriented mindset to promote excellence in alignment with Practice Care Centre's people-first culture and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Regional and Practice Managers throughout the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) hiring process, including reviewing resumes, conducting phone interviews, preparing a list of candidate recommendations, scheduling interviews, and closing candidates.
  • Participate in the population of our database, with an emphasis on record quality and quantity, as it relates to the continuous tracking of DVMs and their contact information.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, TA, assist in executing a campus recruitment plan with an emphasis on DVM programs across Canada.
  • In partnership with the rest of the Talent Acquisition team, attend and potentially contribute to key professional conferences and industry events to expand our network and increase Practice Care Centre's profile in the marketplace.
  • Identify creative venues for candidate attraction via DVM communities, including social media platforms.
  • Implement an outreach strategy to strategically target everyone who falls within the related geographic catchment area each time a DVM post is created.
  • Utilize the Find'Em tool to its maximum potential by building projects for each opening alongside our TAS and expanding upon our social media network through regular outreach and capturing as much contact data as possible in our database.
  • Develop and implement creative ways to reach our target audience of DVMs and work with marketing and the TA Team to coordinate, organize, and participate in Practice Care Centre recruitment events.
  • Be the guru of DVM-related marketplace information and trends, including tracking the most current compensation trends and competitor intelligence.
  • Be a Brand Ambassador for Practice Care Centre at external events.

Position Requirements:

  • Our ideal candidate is a RVT/PM/DVM with clinical experience and has already transitioned to a corporate role in sales, operations, or recruitment. Ideally, they have a demonstrated track record of building relationships with internal partners and overcoming obstacles in a professional and diplomatic way, always with an eye on improving our success rates and keeping processes moving forward.
  • Experience using some form of CRM database would be considered an asset.
  • They easily and quickly become 'a part of the team' and are driven by wanting to contribute to a Company's success.
  • They can work effectively under deadlines organizing multiple detail-oriented tasks.
  • They have a natural curiosity to learn new things and pride themselves on their advanced customer service skills and ability to change gears quickly without skipping a beat.
  • They are comfortable operating in a fast-growing, rapidly changing, and dynamic organization with a self-governing, roll-up-your-sleeves culture.
  • The maturity and flexibility to thrive in challenging environments and in a growing organization. They have demonstrated tenacity and persistence in changing environments and challenging operations.

This is a remote role for a candidate located in the GTA, Calgary, or Vancouver.
