Overview

The Veterinary Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in VetCare's growth plan by leveraging their veterinary industry knowledge to build a national pipeline of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) contacts. This role will partner with the Operations team and the Talent Acquisition team to focus on managing and building a pipeline of talent, executing a campus recruitment program, and relationship building while maintaining a service-oriented mindset to promote excellence in alignment with VetCare's people-first culture and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Regional and Practice Managers throughout the DVM hiring process, including reviewing resumes, conducting phone interviews, preparing candidate recommendations, scheduling interviews, and closing candidates.
  • Participate in populating the database with an emphasis on record quality and quantity, tracking DVMs and their contact information.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, TA, to execute a campus recruitment plan with an emphasis on DVM programs across Canada.
  • Attend and potentially contribute to key professional conferences and industry events to expand the network and increase VetCare's profile in the marketplace.
  • Identify creative venues for candidate attraction via DVM communities, including social media platforms.
  • Implement an outreach strategy to target DVMs within the related geographic catchment area for each opening.
  • Utilize the Find'Em tool to its maximum potential, building projects for each opening and expanding the social media network through regular outreach and capturing contact data in the database.
  • Develop and implement creative ways to reach the target audience of DVMs and work with marketing and the TA Team to coordinate, organize, and participate in VetCare recruitment events.
  • Be the guru of DVM-related marketplace information and trends, including tracking current compensation trends and competitor intelligence.
  • Be a Brand Ambassador for VetCare at external events.

Position Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate is a RVT/PM/DVM with clinical experience and has transitioned to a corporate role in sales, operations, or recruitment, with a demonstrated track record of building relationships and overcoming obstacles.
  • Experience using a CRM database would be considered an asset.
  • The candidate should be driven by wanting to contribute to a Company's success, work effectively under deadlines, and have advanced customer service skills.
  • They should be comfortable operating in a fast-growing, rapidly changing organization with a self-governing culture.
