About the Role

Aviva is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Claims Adjuster to join our Customer Response - Property team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for claim settlement of predominately commercial property claims via telephone, with a focus on quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support customer demand through a phone and text line environment
  • Investigate and negotiate commercial property claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines
  • Confirm coverage and compile FNOL information for incoming claims
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to customers, peers, and stakeholders
  • Ensure data accuracy and issue payments to vendors, insureds, and experts
  • Review and analyze estimates, value of claim, and negotiate/settle claim accordingly
  • Advise and counsel customers on claim status, providing prompt and exemplary customer service
  • Ensure all correspondence is completed in a timely and effective manner
  • Recognize questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities
  • Review case law to determine liability
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in a related field
  • 5+ years of previous claims experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience handling first-party commercial claims
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand
  • High level of comfort dealing directly with key commercial clients and brokers
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Guidewire
  • High level of prioritization and organization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
