About the Role

As a Community Residence Counselor at McLean Hospital, you will play a critical role in providing direct patient care and participating in therapeutic milieu within the scope of defined practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plan.
  • Establish relationships with patients that are helpful and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Intervene in managing complex patient situations.
  • Participate in leading and co-leading patient groups.
  • Provide and supervise community activities according to needs.
  • Communicate information regarding patient milieu/therapeutic environment to appropriate staff in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Under direction of the Program Manager.
  • Successful candidate will provide direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plan.
  • Ability to establish relationships with patients that are helpful and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Intervention skills in managing complex patient situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
