Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join our Private Client-Cross Border team at KPMG Canada. As a key member of our team, you will work on Canadian and US tax planning initiatives and tax compliance, providing expert advice to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Canadian and US personal tax laws, including passive foreign investment corporation and controlled foreign corporation regimes.
- Work closely with staff to prepare Canadian and US individual and trust income tax returns, including complex tax returns and calculations.
- Review and prepare tax returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain client files and correspond regularly with individual clients and tax authorities.
- Provide support to team members in practice development tasks, including training programs and marketing materials.
- Minimum 2 years of experience specializing in Canadian and/or US personal tax preparation.
- Accounting or Business undergraduate degree or diploma.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, with Excel experience required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- US Professional designation (US CPA or EA) and Canadian Professional designation (CPA) is desirable.
