Tax Specialist

At KPMG in Canada, we're seeking a talented Tax Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our cross-border tax team, you'll work on complex Canadian and US tax planning initiatives and compliance projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop in-depth knowledge of Canadian and US personal tax laws, including passive foreign investment corporation and controlled foreign corporation regimes.
- Work closely with staff to prepare Canadian and US individual and trust income tax returns, including complex returns and calculations.
- Review and prepare tax returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain client files and correspond with clients and tax authorities.
- Support team members in practice development tasks, including training programs and marketing materials.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Canadian and/or US personal tax preparation.
- Accounting or Business undergraduate degree or diploma.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Excel experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US Professional designation (US CPA or EA) and/or Canadian Professional designation (CPA).
