Intern, Outfit Engineering

Seaspan Shipyards is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Intern, Outfit Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in naval architecture, steel outfitting, and joinery systems from design to production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Naval Architects and Mechanical Engineers in completing engineering tasks.
  • Prepare design schematics and detail drawings to support contract design requirements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the vessel's bill of materials.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to solve production issues.
  • Generate reports and draft manufacturing details.
Requirements:
  • Enrollment in a Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other Engineering degree program.
  • Passion for shipbuilding and interest in implementing Naval Architecture concepts within a production environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Proficiency working with CAD/CAM software suite, including AutoCAD.
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent digital literacy, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
