Job Title: Physiotherapist - Full-Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physiotherapist to join our team at The Meadows, a 105-bed Long Term Care home in Yarmouth, NS. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, wellbeing, and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating physiotherapy services for residents. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to design and deliver individual and group programs, and provide education and training to staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive therapeutic assessments of residents and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Design and deliver physiotherapy programs for residents, including individual and group sessions
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Provide education and training to staff and residents on physiotherapy techniques and best practices
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of resident progress and treatment plans
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a recognized School of Physiotherapy
  • Licensed by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Current membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with the elderly and in long-term care settings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in long-term care or with individuals with dementia
  • Advanced dementia-related training (GPA, Teepa Snow, Pieces, etc.)
  • Neighborhood Guide or Team Building/Change Management training
  • Experience delivering in-services to various groups
