We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at The Meadows, a 105-bed Long Term Care home in Nova Scotia. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, wellbeing, and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and oversee the delivery of Physiotherapy Services to Residents of The Meadows.
- Complete comprehensive therapeutic assessments upon referral of Residents.
- Design individual and/or group programs as required.
- Graduate of a recognized School of Physiotherapy.
- Licensed by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
- Current membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to organize, label, audit, and maintain Physio equipment.
- Demonstrated willingness and passion to engage and participate with residents and lead others to enhance resident needs.
- Relate well to residents and staff with a compassionate, caring, respectful attitude and strong customer service mindset.
- Self-directed, resilient to change, ability to facilitate, resolve conflicts, and function with ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, supervising, and communicating verbally and in writing.
- Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to changing needs of the service and program.
- Previous experience in working with the elderly.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and learning.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
- Willingness to follow Eden resident-centered philosophies.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software packages and business computer applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and have a high level of integrity.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written).
- Ability to spread positivity and stamp out negativity.
- Experience working in long-term care or with individuals with dementia.
- Advanced Dementia-related training (GPA, Teepa Snow, Pieces, etc.).
- Neighborhood Guide or Team Building/Change Management training.
- Experience delivering in-services to various groups.
- Experience leading committees (Safe Resident Handling).
