Job Title: Physiotherapist - Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at The Meadows, a 105-bed Long Term Care home in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, wellbeing, and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating Physiotherapy services for residents. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, deliver, and oversee the delivery of Physiotherapy services to residents
  • Complete comprehensive therapeutic assessments upon referral of residents
  • Design individual and/or group programs as required
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a recognized School of Physiotherapy
  • Licensed by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Current membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to organize, label, audit, and maintain Physio equipment
  • Demonstrated willingness and passion to engage and participate with residents and staff
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in long term care or with individuals with dementia
  • Advanced Dementia related training (GPA, Teepa Snow, Pieces, etc.)
  • Neighborhood Guide or Team Building / Change Management training
  • Experience delivering in-services to various groups
  • Experience leading committees (Safe Resident Handling)
