We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Generation Planning Manager to join our team at Qulliq Energy Corporation, entrusted to provide safe, reliable power to all customers in Nunavut.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the research, planning, and certification of generation systems, designs, and standards. This includes providing engineering support in areas such as system planning, design services, technical analysis, and conducting research.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new installations, replacements, overhauls, and upgrades to the Corporation's generation systems, ensuring compliance with QEC's Generation Standards and applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Schedule and manage capital projects, including Requests for Tender for genset, emergency genset, switchgear, and power plant improvements, replacements, and installations, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Conduct and coordinate research studies, analysis, and designs related to alternative energy systems integration, generator sizing, fuel storage, and other critical aspects.
- Lead the development of new and existing generation standards and procedures, including stamping designs.
- Chair the Generation Standards Committee consisting of representatives from Engineering and Operations departments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.), eligible for registration with NAPEG.
- Seven years of experience in planning electrical generation systems in a utility environment.
- Two years of experience in supervising and developing staff.
- Experience in diesel-generated power generation.
- Full scope project management experience from inception to commissioning.
Assets:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Knowledge of Nunavut, its land, language, and culture.
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, and/or French.
Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $128,034.52 to $154,016.92, a Northern Living Allowance of $16,008 per annum, a comprehensive benefits package, including a defined benefit pension program, and subsidized staff housing.
