Job Description

We're looking for a Renewable Energy Specialist - Utility Sector Lead who will report directly to the Director of Engineering. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for researching, planning, and managing ARE initiatives and programs. Your expertise will support the execution of ARE projects by providing engineering support in areas such as planning, design, technical analysis, and conducting research.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Net Metering Program, Commercial and Institutional Power Producer, and Independent Power Producer program
  • Provide recommendations for higher management regarding ARE initiatives
  • Respond to requests for information from stakeholders regarding renewable energy initiatives
  • Closely work with Finance and Operations to ensure program effectiveness and improve efficiency
  • Prepare Requests for Tender / Request for Proposal for ARE projects and ensures effective project execution
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Seven years of experience in ARE project management in a utility sector
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
  • Knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP, HOMER, RETScreen are assets
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Additionally, you'll have access to comprehensive benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and a dynamic work environment.

Location

This role is based in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and requires occasional travel to other locations within the territory.
