Job Title: Lead Design Engineer – Montreal QC

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Job Type: Permanent position (full-time)

Main Responsibilities:

As a Lead Design Engineer at Ranger Design, you will be responsible for designing innovative products under the supervision of the Engineering Design Manager. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing products that meet or exceed industry standards
  • Working with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and profitability
  • Creating clear and accurate part and assembly drawings
  • Managing sourced products
  • Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and solutions
  • Working with the supply chain and suppliers to develop a solution on time and within budget
  • Coordinating the launch to ensure all steps of the design process were followed
  • Providing technical expertise on designs, time estimates, and products
  • Ensuring product quality control and safety standards

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Design skills
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Project management
  • Manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Process improvement
  • Technical understanding
  • Documentation skills
  • Safety management
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English (bilingualism is an asset)
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of an ERP (Epicor is an asset)
