Painter and Decorator

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at Maple Contractors Ltd. as a key member of our interior and exterior finishing team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth finish and adhering to safety protocols.
- Repair cracks and holes in walls and ceilings, using appropriate materials and techniques.
- Mix paint to the desired color and texture, taking into account the specific requirements of each project.
- Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls, ensuring a precise and professional finish.
- Advise clients on colors and choice of wall coverings, providing expert recommendations based on their needs and preferences.
- Erect scaffolding and swing stages, and attach rigging, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, meeting the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Estimate costs and materials, providing accurate and detailed quotes to clients.
- Select appropriate paint or mix paints, taking into account the specific requirements of each project.
- Painter and Decorator Trade Certification.
- Working at heights training.
- Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Painter and Decorator Red Seal Certificate.
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
- Airless spray equipment experience.
- Brush painting experience.
- Conventional spray painting experience.
- Multi-ratio pump spraying experience.
- Patterned rollers experience.
- Roller painting experience.
- Thermal spray equipment experience.
- Drywall taping/patching experience.
- Water/hydroblasting experience.
- Steam cleaning experience.
