Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fund Accountant to join our team in Montreal, Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting functions for our investment funds, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial statements and other reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the financial reporting and accounting functions for our investment funds, including the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other regulatory filings.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial statements and other reporting requirements, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including investment managers, portfolio managers, and other support teams.
  4. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to address any audit findings or concerns.
  5. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and implement changes as necessary to ensure compliance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in fund accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Excel, financial reporting tools, and other relevant technologies.
