The role of Senior Financial Analyst at Toronto Hydro is a pivotal one, tasked with driving financial success through strategic planning and analytical prowess.
With five or more years of progressive experience in a capital-intensive environment, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of accounting standards, specifically under IFRS, as well as expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
A key responsibility of this position involves providing guidance on financial transaction treatment, leading cross-functional teams to gather relevant case facts, perform research, and develop detailed implementation plans and monitoring controls.
This Senior Financial Analyst will be expected to coordinate month-end close, quarter-end, and year-end activities for Property, Plant and Equipment and Intangible Assets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting.
Additionally, they will assist with quarterly audits and annual tax requirements, as well as other externally required reports. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for effectively collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify areas for process improvements and implementing changes.
Key qualifications for this role include a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, and being a fully designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Canada. Experience working with complex ERP systems, data analysis tools, and database management concepts is also highly valued.
Notably, Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely up to three days per week while maintaining access to on-site facilities when necessary. This position requires residing in Ontario and being within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
Toronto Hydro offers an attractive salary package for this Senior Financial Analyst position, estimated to be around $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
