Job Summary



We are seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach natural resource micro-credentials at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering instruction in one or more of the following courses at the Campbell River campus: CFW – 113: Technical Math for Forestry and RFT 117 Statistical Analysis for Forestry.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments
- Use a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs
- Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity
- Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment
- Be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours and classroom hours

Qualifications

- Forest professional or related discipline with a minimum of three years industry experience
- Master's degree in math, education, forestry, environmental studies, or a related field
- Curriculum development experience
- One year teaching experience in a post-secondary setting

Preferred Qualifications

- BC Instructors Diploma or BC Teaching Certificate
- Experience with all aspects of course instruction, including facilitation of theoretical and applied learning, coordination of field trips, engaging with industry, and coordination of instructional resources
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with a variety of instructional aids, computer applications, learning technologies, and digital tools
