We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data within our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of accounting and administrative tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed records, reports, and spreadsheets to support financial decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date with changing financial regulations and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to improve financial processes and procedures.
- Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business program with an emphasis in Accounting.
- Minimum one (1) year recent and related experience in a computerized Accounting environment in the past three (3) years.
- Work experience in Accounts Payable preferred.
- Ability to use MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel), Accounting software, and willingness to learn new programs.
- Ability to use general office equipment.
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Accounting.
- Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.

- Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience working within the functional area of Accounts Payable an asset.
- Experience working within SAP an asset.
- Experience in a healthcare environment an asset.
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset.
- Permanent, full-time position, 70 hours bi-weekly.
- $26.24 hourly.
- Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
