Your role at EXP

In this position, you will be part of our Atlantic Canada Infrastructure team in our Saint John, NB office, working in a modern, collaborative environment. Our team plays a leading role in large infrastructure projects and collaborates with EXP team members across North America.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Monitoring construction of municipal infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, curb, gutter, sidewalk) to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Tracking material quantities used during construction.
  • Completing daily field reports.
  • Liaising with the public to ensure local residents and businesses are informed of construction progress and that all enquiries and concerns are dealt with promptly.
  • Recording as-built information.
  • Observing actual construction progress against the Contractor's schedules.
  • Proactively evaluating work being performed to anticipate problems that may interfere with progress.
  • Maintaining an electronic directory of digital photographs to document construction progress.
  • Liaising with public works staff to ensure they are kept informed throughout the duration of construction.
  • Reporting deficiencies observed to the Contractor's Superintendent and the Project Manager immediately.
  • Coordinating on-site materials testing and inspection, pressure testing, chlorination testing, and commissioning of system components as required.
  • Ensuring contractor follows all Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate field notes.

What your experience looks like

  • 3+ years experience related to the construction of municipal infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, curb, gutter, sidewalk).
  • Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with applicable Health & Safety regulations.
  • Graduation from a Civil Engineering Technology program, as well as working knowledge of AutoCad Civil 3D, would be considered an asset.
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills.
