At EXP, we're committed to delivering exceptional infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our clients and communities. Our Atlantic Canada Infrastructure team is seeking a highly skilled Municipal Infrastructure Inspector to join our team in Saint John, NB.
Your Role
- Monitor construction of municipal infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, curb, gutter, sidewalk) to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Track material quantities used during construction.
- Complete daily field reports.
- Liaise with the public to ensure local residents and businesses are informed of construction progress.
- Record as-built information.
- Observe construction progress against Contractor's schedules.
- Evaluate work being performed to anticipate potential problems.
- Maintain an electronic directory of digital photographs documenting construction progress.
- Liaise with public works staff to ensure they're informed throughout construction.
- Report deficiencies to the Contractor's Superintendent and Project Manager immediately.
- Coordinate on-site materials testing and inspection, pressure testing, chlorination testing, and commissioning of system components as required.
- Ensure contractor follows Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate field notes.
Your Experience
- 3+ years experience related to construction of municipal infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, curb, gutter, sidewalk).
- Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with applicable Health & Safety regulations.
- Graduation from a Civil Engineering Technology program, with working knowledge of AutoCad Civil 3D, considered an asset.
- Strong work ethic and communication skills.
