Position Overview

As a Clinical Specialist at Shared Health, you will play a key role in addressing key clinical issues by providing clinical expertise and leadership in the areas of clinical practice, consultation, supervision, inter-professional collaboration, education and training, quality improvement, and research.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in promoting and maintaining excellence in the delivery of relevant, evidence-based clinical interventions within the integrated mental health and addictions (MHA) system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of four (4) years' clinical practice in community mental health/addictions services.
  • Two (2) years' experience in consultative or supervisory role.
  • Skills and experience in staff training and development within a continuous learning environment.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary staff and promoting inter-professional practice.
  • Experience in program planning, evaluation and development.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of: Advanced knowledge of the addictions and mental health fields is required. Comprehensive knowledge and advanced level of practice in clinical assessment and treatment models including but not limited to: therapeutic models, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Strength Based therapies, Addiction Disorders, Crisis Response, Case Management, Inter-professional Practice, prevention and promotion, service coordination and integration, supportive counselling, Trauma Informed Practice, Systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance principles.
  • Demonstrated inter-professional collaborative team building abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to holistic health care and varied community and social perspectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate processes and partnerships for practice development.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and summarize complex information to determine action required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, and in the context of families, groups and communities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to function within a computerized environment required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and written in French is considered to be an asset.
  • Valid Manitoba's driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.
