We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Mental Health Emergency Department, you will provide exceptional care to children and youth presenting with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments to inform care planning and treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide direct care services, including administering medications, performing therapeutic interventions, and providing crisis counseling.
- Collaborate with emergency department staff to ensure seamless transitions and coordination of care.
- Participate in education and training initiatives to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
- Three years' recent related experience working with children, adolescents, and families in an inpatient child/adolescent mental health unit.
- Current CPR and CPI training.
