About the Opportunity
The Royal Conservatory is seeking a highly skilled Service Desk Assistant to provide exceptional customer service and support to students, faculty, and visitors. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for managing customer expectations and delivering a superior level of service and professionalism.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide front-line customer service and assistance to students, faculty, and the public
- Assign and control access to practicing and teaching spaces
- Handle inbound phone calls and emails
- Work with building services staff to provide accurate details for room and equipment set-ups
- Coordinate inventory and demand for room keys and equipment
- Input bookings into the online schedule and process administrative tasks
- Sale of practice cards, including cash handling and POS debits
- Provide mailroom relief and coordinate mail, couriers, and office supply requests
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail, strong personal initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with cash-handling and POS terminals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a high-pressure atmosphere and respond to customer demands while remaining focused
Additional Information
- Hourly rate: $16.55 per hour
- Scheduling flexibility for shifts: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
