Key Responsibilities:
  • Curate motion capture data for animation sets and push the limits of new technologies in Motion Matching and Machine Learning.
  • Develop new animation solutions across DCC and Machine Learning with engineers.
  • Design cutting-edge animation tools and pipelines for animators and designers.
  • Guide UX design for animation tools and provide feedback on R&D projects.
  • Review AI-generated animation results and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate with game teams to solve unique animation challenges.
  • Design and create high-quality technical demos.
  • Lead the animation community at EA by teaching new animation systems and communicating feedback.
  • Coordinate with QA to maintain high-quality animation systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation and tutorials.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Proven experience in Technical Animation with state machines and procedural solutions.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles and anatomy.
  • Experience with managing animation pipelines and workflows.
  • Experience with motion capture and retargeting.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Maya and standard industry tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
Supplemental Skills:
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging runtime animation systems.
  • MotionBuilder experience is an asset.
Portfolio Requirements:
  • All submissions must include a portfolio showing personal and professional artwork.
Compensation Package:

The estimated salary range for this position is $130,350 - $175,100 annually, based on location in British Columbia. Benefits include vacation time, sick leave, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, bonus, and equity opportunities.
