About the Role:
As a Health Care Aide with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with activities of daily living, treatments, and treatment plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support patients with mobility and transfer needs, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Assist with medication administration and documentation
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
- Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
- Graduate from an approved educational program or completion of a pre-service manual during orientation
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Level C certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
