Description:
As a Horticulture Technician at Clintar Commercial Outdoor Services, you will play a vital role in maintaining our clients' outdoor spaces. Your responsibilities will include surveying and assessing designated projects and jobsites, constructing and maintaining gardens, and planning jobs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. You will also be responsible for using and operating tools and equipment used in horticulture, planting seeds and transplanting seedlings, and caring for growing plants by watering, pruning, weeding, cultivating, and removing dead or damaged leaf tissue. Additionally, you will inspect, handle, and transport nursery stock, spread top soil and lay sod, plant fertilization and watering, prune trees, shrubs, and hedges, and perform general lawn and garden maintenance. You will also operate power mowers, push mowers, tractors, blowers, electric clippers, pruning saws, and other landscape maintenance equipment. Your strong communication skills will be essential in communicating with customers in a polite and courteous manner.

Requirements:
Completion of college, vocational, or technical training, Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardener Trade Certification, minimum 1-2 years of experience, plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, and perennials, ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, physically fit with strong stamina, basic measurement and calculation skills, ability to follow safe working procedures, excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills (both verbal and written), ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team, speak, read, and write English, and a clean/valid driver's license.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Completion of college, vocational, or technical training, Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardener Trade Certification, minimum 1-2 years of experience.

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
Physically fit with strong stamina.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Customer and quality focus, effective communication skills (both verbal and written), team work.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardener Trade Certification.

Language Skills:
Speak, read, and write English, effective communication skills (both verbal and written).

Mathematical Skills:
Basic measurement and calculation skills.

Work Conditions:
Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials, ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requires good manual dexterity, excellent stamina is required, work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis, work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold, flexible working hours including occasional weekend work.
