About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). As a Pediatric Thoracic Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing expert surgical care to children with thoracic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Thoracic Conditions: Diagnose and treat a wide range of thoracic conditions in children, including congenital anomalies, tumors, and other diseases.
  • Perform Complex Surgeries: Perform complex surgical procedures, including thoracotomies, lung resections, and other thoracic surgeries.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and radiologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Conduct Research and Education: Participate in research and education activities to advance the field of pediatric thoracic surgery and stay up-to-date with the latest developments and techniques.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Must have a medical degree and completion of a thoracic surgery fellowship program.
  • Experience and Skills: Must have at least 5 years of experience in pediatric thoracic surgery and possess excellent surgical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and hold a valid medical license.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload and tight deadlines. The ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail is essential.
