Job Title: Thoracic Surgeon
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). As a Thoracic Surgeon, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the chest and lungs. This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek and requires a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, as well as 5 years or more of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the chest and lungs
- Conduct medical research and prepare research papers for publication
- Prescribe post-operation medication and treatment
- Supervise laboratory activities and order diagnostic procedures
- Act as consultants to other physicians and work collaboratively with the team
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Physically demanding with standing and walking
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
Requirements:
- Qualifications and certifications as a Thoracic Surgeon
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
- Criminal record check and child abuse registry check
- Medical exam and immunization records
