About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will provide advanced knowledge, leadership, and coordination of the Public Health Zone workforce development in the area of partnerships.

The Consultant will work closely with the Manager, Healthy Communities, and other Consultants to provide advice and direction for partnership engagement, building and sustaining effective coalitions. The position requires in-depth knowledge of the steps of developing and sustaining partnerships and coalitions, as well as the ability to create and plan opportunities for strengthening practice among staff.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in public health, health promotion, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Baccalaureate degree in health promotion or a related field, with 5-7 years of relevant experience, may be considered. The successful candidate will also have training in IAP2 and experience in planning, development, and evaluation of public health programs, services, and initiatives.

The Consultant will be responsible for building and linking to coalitions, strengthening the work in partnership between Mental Health & Addiction Services, Primary Health Care, and NSH's department of Public Engagement and Community Health Board Support. The position will also work with local CHBs through community health planning and link the PH work plans around CHB priorities.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in the Core Competencies for Public Health and LEADS, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders using various methods. The position requires a high level of ethics, integrity, respect, and accountability, as well as knowledge of volunteer management, training, and orientation.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional who is passionate about public health and community development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the importance of partnerships and community engagement in animating public policy work.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners. They will also have demonstrated innovative systems thinking with an understanding of working with communities.

Hours

The position is a permanent full-time opportunity, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule.
