Public Health Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will provide advanced knowledge, leadership, and coordination of the Public Health Zone workforce development in the area of partnerships.
The Consultant will work closely with the Manager, Healthy Communities, and other Consultants to provide advice and direction for partnership engagement, building and sustaining effective coalitions. The position requires in-depth knowledge of the steps of developing and sustaining partnerships and coalitions, as well as the ability to create and plan opportunities for strengthening practice among staff.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in public health, health promotion, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Baccalaureate degree in health promotion or a related field, with 5-7 years of relevant experience, may be considered. The successful candidate will also have training in IAP2 and experience in planning, development, and evaluation of public health programs, services, and initiatives.
The Consultant will be responsible for building and linking to coalitions and strengthening the work in partnership between Mental Health & Addiction Services, Primary Health Care, and NSH's department of Public Engagement and Community Health Board Support. The position will also collaborate with system and external partners, identify and monitor key indicators, and support knowledge exchange across the health system and other sectors.
About You- We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in public health, health promotion, or a related field.
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners.
- The successful candidate will also have demonstrated innovative systems thinking, with an understanding of working with communities, and high standards of ethics, integrity, respect, and accountability.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.
- Permanent Full Time/100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
