About the RoleThis is a permanent, full-time position with a 100% FTE and 75 hours bi-weekly. You'll report to the Manager, Healthy Communities, and work closely with the Consultant, Strategic Partnership and Engagement to provide advanced knowledge, leadership, and coordination of the Public Health Zone workforce development in the area of partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance, coordination, and direction to staff on the use of methods and tools for partnership engagement
- Advise staff practice and recommend quality initiatives and work practice changes to the manager
- Build and link to coalitions and strengthen the work in partnership between Mental Health & Addiction Services, Primary Health Care, and the NSH's department of Public Engagement and Community Health Board Support
- Champion volunteerism and mobilize the community to take action for better health outcomes
- Master's in public health, health promotion, or equivalent with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
- Baccalaureate degree in health promotion or other relevant fields, with 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
- Training in IAP2
- Experience in planning, development, and evaluation of public health programs, services, and initiatives
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Core Competencies for Public Health and LEADS
- Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners
