We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director of Governance and Compliance to lead our team at SIRC. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who can provide guidance, evaluate performance, recommend training and development opportunities, and collaborate with HR on matters related to their direct report/s to ensure alignment with program and organizational objectives.

About the Role

The Senior Director of Governance and Compliance will be responsible for leading the case intake and resolution, overseeing a trauma-informed team of professionals managing intake processes and resolution matters, and ensuring a timely response to all reported matters and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Provide guidance and support to the leadership team to ensure effective management of programs and initiatives.
    • Evaluate performance and recommend training and development opportunities for team members.
    • Collaborate with HR on matters related to personnel oversight, including senior-level personnel development and performance management.
  • Case Intake and Resolution:
    • Lead the case intake and resolution process, ensuring a timely response to all reported matters and inquiries.
    • Oversee a trauma-informed team of professionals managing intake processes and resolution matters.
  • CSSP Rules and Policies:
    • Ensure fair implementation of the CSSP Rules, including jurisdictional determinations and breach assessments.
    • Contribute to policy development and recommend amendments based on feedback.
  • Victim Support and Communication:
    • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Victim Support and Communication, to address cases outside of CSSP jurisdiction.
    • Provide support services to all involved parties.
  • Analytics and Research:
    • Develop internal metrics and oversee intake and case management system.
    • Provide weekly briefings to the Executive Director on reported cases, trends, and issues.
  • Quality Management System:
    • Develop internal quality controls and ensure team effectiveness.
    • Manage risk mitigation strategies and ensure stakeholder feedback is logged in the quality database.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a university degree in the field of law, public administration, social sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in relevant leadership positions is required, along with demonstrated success in managing multi-faceted programs across a broad stakeholder sector.

You will also need to have knowledge of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) and its implementation across Canadian sport systems. Knowledge of the regulatory and policy environment within which SIRC operates is also essential.

This is a bilingual position, requiring proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
