Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contents Restoration Technician to join our team at BELFOR. In this role, you will be responsible for handling personal property in residential and commercial settings.

About the Role

As a Contents Restoration Technician, you will work under supervision in processing contents in various settings, including residential and commercial environments. Your primary duties will include packing, loading, and transporting contents, as well as disassembly and reassembly of items. You will also be responsible for providing mitigation services, performing dry and wet cleaning, inventorying and chain of custody, deodorization, ambient air filtration, and cleaning and laundering items.

You will participate in vehicle safety and maintenance inspections, maintain vehicles in clean condition, construct polyethylene enclosures, remove and dispose of debris, and set up equipment. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of content scopes of work, including characterization of smoke particulate, test cleaning, cleaning methods, and deodorization methods.

Your responsibilities will also include identifying salvageable versus non-salvageable contents, inventory photographing, providing excellent customer service, working under time constraints to meet specific timelines, ensuring attention to detail, and safeguarding other people's property and information.

Requirements
  • Working knowledge of restoration industry best practices, including restoration following fire and water losses, degradation factors, decontamination, and real, sentimental, and historical evaluation.
  • Familiarity with chemical cleaning products, including Safety Data Sheets.
  • IICRC certification (Fire and Smoke and/or Odour Control and / or Water Damage) is preferred.
  • Recognition of common objects and materials.
  • Construction/Restoration/Insurance experience is preferred.
What We Offer

BELFOR offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Physical Demands

The position requires frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time), occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time), access and mobility in tight spaces, fit testing – half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required, working at heights – over 5 feet, periodically, sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
