The Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia is the province's provider of workplace injury insurance. Their mission is to champion a timely return to safe and healthy work for those whose lives have been touched by a workplace injury.

As a Data Analyst - Injury Statistics Specialist at VenorTalent, you will play a key role in supplying data for jurisdictional reports and assisting with the development of public awareness messaging related to workplace injury statistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist management in the development and reporting of performance measures
  • Provide expert direction on statistical data to other WCB analysts
  • Making cost-benefit analyses which aid the organization in meeting its objectives

Requirements:

  • A university degree with a concentration in finance, accounting, information technology, data science, applied statistics or mathematics
  • At least two years' experience with the utilization of a large computerized database and related analytical tools

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power BI data modelling and report builds
  • Proficiency with SQL scripting
  • Knowledge of data analytics including database and data warehousing, data and model visualization methods, statistics and machine learning
