Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Regional Addiction Treatment Specialist to join our team at Ontario Addiction Treatment Centres (OATC). As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing expert coverage for staffing shortages within a designated territory.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling regionally to various clinics, providing professional services, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to working with individuals living with addiction and mental health.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide professional services to multiple regional locations
  2. Operate professionally, ethically, and with integrity within the guidelines and standards of the Ontario College of Nurses and adhere to the highest standards of medical practice
  3. Dispense and administer medications as delegated by a licensed Physician
  4. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate treatment plans
  5. Perform ECG's, venipuncture, urine drug screening supervision, and testing, as well as other vital signs
About You
  • A registered nurse with a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Previous experience in addiction treatment and/or a similar field
  • Ability to travel and access to a personal vehicle
  • A member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Harm Reduction principles and ability to work with clients experiencing addiction and mental illness
