Research and Innovation Leader Opportunity

The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute is seeking a dynamic and inspirational research leader to join our team as the Executive Vice President, Research & Innovation (EVP), TOH and the Chief Executive Officer & Scientific Director (CEO/SD), OHRI.

About the Role

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actualize the Hospital's long-standing commitment to innovate, integrate, and have impact across its entire research enterprise, now and into the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the research and innovation agenda for the Hospital and OHRI
  • Develop and implement a compelling vision for the Hospital's research and innovation enterprise
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, collaborators, and funders
  • Mentor and support a diverse and inclusive team culture that is safe, high-performing, equitable, and committed to addressing matters of social justice, anti-racism, anti-oppression, planetary health, and social accountability
Requirements

We are seeking a leader, innovator, and respected scientist with a clear sense of the future and the importance of research and innovation in all its forms. You should have:

  • A strong track record of leadership and innovation in research and innovation
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • The ability to develop and rally support for a compelling vision for the Hospital's research and innovation enterprise
  • A commitment to integrity, equity, inclusion, collaboration, and excellence
