Job Description

Astellas Pharma Canada is seeking a highly skilled Medical Affairs Operations Lead to join our team. This is a key role that will drive the operational efforts to deliver annual and longer-term medical planning and execution of Medical Affairs activities and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational plans to ensure timely and effective execution of Medical Affairs activities and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a local framework for decision-making and infrastructure to monitor execution status.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice to Medical Affairs teams on governance and processes relating to execution of Medical Affairs activities.
  • Identify and escalate risks to planned execution of Medical Affairs activities and collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership to develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and present project updates as required.
  • Contribute to the execution and delivery of special projects or initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a science/medical-based function, with a minimum 3 years' Medical Affairs experience.
  • Strong knowledge of governance processes and quality standards, local laws and guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management, planning, prioritization, and organization skills with excellent interpersonal skills, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Previous budget management experience.
  • Matrix navigation expertise.
  • Working knowledge of Astellas key products/disease states across all TAs.
  • Fluency in local language and proficient in written and spoken business English.
