Job Description

Astellas Pharma Canada is seeking a highly skilled Medical Affairs Operations Lead to join our team. This is a key role that will drive the operational efforts to deliver annual and longer-term medical planning and execution of Medical Affairs activities and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational plans to ensure timely and effective execution of Medical Affairs activities and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain governance processes and quality standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on technical aspects of Medical Affairs activities, including budget and tactic category definitions, submission tool requirements, and global and regional timelines.
  • Lead affiliate Medical Affairs planning and coordination of key Medical Affairs events, such as Core Medical Planning (CMP).
  • Develop and maintain meaningful metrics to support local business decision making and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a science/medical based function, with a minimum 3 years' Medical Affairs experience.
  • Strong knowledge of governance processes and quality standards, local laws and guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management, planning, prioritization and organization skills with excellent interpersonal skills, communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Previous budget management experience.
  • Matrix navigation expertise.
  • Working knowledge of Astellas key products/disease states across all TAs.
  • Fluency in local language and proficient in written and spoken business English.
