Job Summary

Lucky Supply Inc. is seeking a skilled Wholesale Buyer to join our team. As a Wholesale Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing merchandise for resale, negotiating prices with suppliers, and overseeing the distribution of products to our outlets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Procurement
    • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
    • Arrange products according to planograms to ensure optimal display and sales.
    • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements.
    • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
  • Merchandise Management
    • Review requirements of our establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
    • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, taking into account factors such as quality, price, and availability.
    • Supervise the work of other buyers to ensure that purchasing goals are met.
  • Market Analysis and Research
    • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and industry developments.
    • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the wholesale market.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
    • Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure that merchandise is delivered to customers on time and in good condition.
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Supervise 1 to 2 people in the purchasing department.

  • Experience and Education
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
    • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
