Invenergy LLC is a global leader in the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects.

We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Specialist to build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, municipalities, and stakeholders in Central and Western Canada.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in Indigenous, community, and stakeholder engagement for large infrastructure or energy projects.

Job Description

This role involves providing leadership on engagement strategies and plans for Invenergy's portfolio of projects, building trust with Indigenous communities, and representing Invenergy at meetings and public events.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies and plans that align with Invenergy's long-term strategy and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with Indigenous communities, municipalities, and stakeholders.
  • Represent Invenergy at meetings and public events with customers, landowners, provincial and municipal elected officials, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead community engagement activities during all phases of project development, including obtaining local, provincial, and/or federal permits and authorizations.
  • Take a leading role in procedural aspects of consultation with Indigenous communities, including negotiating agreements for capacity, traditional knowledge studies, accommodation, and potential partnerships.
  • Assist in securing site control for development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements, and other agreements with landowners.
  • Coordinate landowner communication efforts and manage tasks according to budgets and schedules.

This role requires regular travel to communities where projects are situated in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia (approximately 25% of time).

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
