Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Specialist to join our team in Ontario. As a key member of our land use planning group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute effective stakeholder engagement plans to foster collaboration and build relationships with local communities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder meetings, public events, and community liaison committees to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Prepare and present project information to stakeholders, including technical details and work plans, to promote transparency and understanding.
  • Liaise with project teams, including communications specialists, contractors, engineers, and architects, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to inform project decisions and improve stakeholder engagement strategies.
Requirements:
  • A university degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, or Communications, Public Policy, Geography, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a municipal or consulting environment, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and community outreach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, including community members, government officials, and industry partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to inform project decisions.
