About the Job
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Aide to join our team in providing support to clients and their families through our Step Up Step Down Program. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment for patients/clients.
- To assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and safe manner.
- To promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living and assist other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health and addiction.
- Connect Care Training and experience with canine training and handling is considered an asset.
What We Offer:
- An estimated annual salary range of $55,000-$65,000 based on experience.

Location: Red Deer, Alberta. While this position may involve working at multiple sites within the Children's Addictions & Mental Health Portfolio, primary responsibilities will be located at Unit 39 (Red Deer Hospital) and PChAD.
This is a full-time position, requiring the successful candidate to commit to taking training out of province, continuing with ongoing training, and caring for the facility dog, which will reside in the handler's residence full-time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting clients and their families, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
