Executive Vice President, Development

Starlight Investments, in partnership with WP Osborne Executive Search, is seeking a seasoned Executive Vice President, Development to lead their Canadian development projects. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in real estate, team management, and driving results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans for development projects, aligning with the company's goals and growth objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of development and investment professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Project Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of development projects, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors and industry partners.
  • Financial Oversight: Provide guidance on project budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses, monitoring financial performance and implementing cost-control measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
  • Development Investments Management: Lead and manage the Development Investments team, overseeing financial models for new projects and ensuring accurate financial projections.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with development projects, developing and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market demands.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Business, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in real estate investment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role related to managing Canadian residential development.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and team management.
  • Proactive leader with excellent project management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior financial acumen, including budgeting and financial analysis.
