Job Summary
The AP Specialist plays a vital role in the finance team, supporting various processes related to payments across the organization. Key responsibilities include reconciling and verifying invoices, maintaining relationships with vendors, and interacting with departmental leads. Additionally, the role involves supporting the operations team with tasks related to products.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and report all A/P transactions (US and CAD) within a multi-divisional manufacturing business
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Input daily invoices and assist with month-end tasks
- Communicate with vendors to rectify discrepancies
- Support operations team with tasks such as creating product label files, updating ERP master files, and programming sites
Requirements
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Accounting knowledge and 3-5 years of experience in an AP role, preferably in a multi-divisional manufacturing environment
- Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of computerized accounting systems and financial software packages
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in ERP systems and financial software packages
- Advanced Excel skills and basic Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
