Job Title: Rehabilitation Worker, Forensic Mental Health

BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Worker to join our team in Coquitlam, BC.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Rehabilitation Worker to work in our minimum and medium security units. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and evaluating psychosocial rehabilitative programs, working collaboratively with the inter-professional team to provide recommendations and participate in the development of individualized rehabilitative treatment plans for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and evaluate psychosocial rehabilitative programs to address the assessed needs of patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the inter-professional team to provide recommendations and participate in the development of individualized rehabilitative treatment plans for patients.
  • Complete rehabilitation assessments and document patient progress.
  • Work collaboratively with other Rehabilitation colleagues and Treatment Team members to analyze the needs of target patient populations as a basis for new program development.
  • Maintain work area and equipment by ensuring equipment and supplies are stored appropriately and accounted for.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized recreational, rehabilitation or related health or human services program.
  • Two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate.
  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
