Job Title: Delivery Manager

Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Delivery Manager to lead our Real Time Rail (RTR) Project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of this project, which will provide a platform for innovation to allow Payments Canada members to offer new ways for Canadians and Canadian businesses to pay and be paid in real-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to identify roadmap/feature dependencies and impediments
  • Track and remove dependencies and impediments to enable the team to surface, track, escalate
  • Guide and coach the team to follow agile practices
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved
  • Assist in the identification and mitigation of project risks
  • Identify and act on coaching opportunities at the individual and team level
  • Conduct regular assessments of a team Agile Maturity and use the results to guide them to improved performance
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and longer-term planning exercises
  • Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to story grooming and maintaining the product backlog
  • Pro-actively identify and mitigate risks using Agile best practices and project deliverables
  • Forecast the numbers of deliverables, based on evidence and reliable sources
  • Estimate and plan software development projects
  • Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance: velocity, stories completed and project status
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure the alignment of budgets, spending and forecasts
  • Support budget tracking and variance mitigation efforts for the delivery team
  • Coordinate operation readiness activities with associated teams
  • Oversee and coordinate software release activities
  • Participate in timely decision making in defining product backlog and alignment to overall product architecture and technical design
  • Regularly communicate with other scrum teams to ensure tactical story alignment and identifies/tracks dependencies between the team
  • Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance: velocity, stories completed and project status

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of previous experience as a Delivery Lead/Delivery Manager/Senior PM with Scrum experience
  • Understands backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban based metrics, task definition, story splitting
  • Good knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand the team's needs
  • Familiar with common development practices, service-oriented environments and agile practices
  • Hands-on experience leading release management activities for successful delivery of product launches
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Diplomatic yet willing to have hard conversations with team members, products owner and delivery partners when there are challenges, issues impeding delivery execution
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to communicate at levels with all key organizational partners
  • Ability to hit the ground running
  • Great communication skills -oral and written
  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Scrum Master
  • Working experience in JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience with System Design and work independent of Architect on creating pragmatic solutions to technical problems, working with the scrum team
  • Working experience in Digital solutions team in Finance industry is an asset
  • Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent an asset
